About Altar Ego Apothecary:
Altar Ego is black and indigenous ran and ancestrally and spiritually charged. Every item is blessed, cleansed, and made with intention, love, and abundance. All products are handmade with ethically and locally sourced, foraged, or traded, organic, cruelty-free, all-natural ingredients, and many ingredients are grown in my garden.  


Who I am and where it all began:
Blessings cosmic cuties, my name is Shankara, and I am a chronically ill, queer, black woman. After 10+ exhausting years of battling uncertain chronic illnesses with little to no progress, aid, or remedy, I began a deep and long ancestral journey to find health and wellness outside of the colonial industrial medical complex. This journey brought me back to the teachings of my ancestors. It brought me back to the earth. It brought me to the healing properties of the living planet that we are existing on, that we are apart of, and that is apart of us. For me, this journey is more than just a persxnal spiritual calling as it is vital to not only my survival, but to the survival of ancient teachings, and ultimately our species. Out of these unfortunate circumstances of bad health I stumbled upon a gift. Thus Altar Ego was born. 
I say all of that to say this, I am very passionate, pleased, and proud to be able to create and share this holistic plant medicine with y'all, and if you have stumbled upon this page, it is not by chance, for we all have ways in which we can heal ourselves and our loved ones. My areas of focus are centered primarily on disabled, chronically ill, queer, trans and non-binary BIPOC who often are ignored, mistreated, and abused within the industrialized medical complex as well as being left out of important discussions about healthcare and accessibility. Not only do we all deserve true and pure compassionate health care, but we also deserve to indulge in self-care and body and mind wellbeing!
